Background Checks

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires employers and credit reporting agencies to follow a number of different practices and procedures if they choose to supply and/or rely on your credit information, commonly referred to as a “background check.” For example, credit reporting agencies are required to provide you with a notice if they provide a credit report or background check to a third party; and employers are required to notify you in writing of your rights prior to relying on any information they receive as part of a background check or credit report.

Teske Katz Kitzer & Rochel is well versed in handling claims on behalf of individuals and groups who have had their rights under the FCRA violated. If you believe you may have been denied employment because of a background check, contact us today to discuss your legal rights and how we may be able to help you.
